Children of morta characters7/3/2023 It's a generic story, ponderously told, and the promise of shaking it up with the family angle is undermined by its not particularly interesting characters. The concept is terrific but I just had no reason to care. Now read that last sentence aloud slowly enough that it takes several minutes, and as though it's the most profound thing ever said. Each has their own weapons and talents, and there are endless cut scenes about how they all come together to stop the evil purple goop coming down the mountain to englubben everything. Instead of classes you choose a member of the family to delve into the ISO standard monster cave underneath the family mansion. It's a slashy light Diablo-ish game without the loot. Ignoring the state of games about dads (because they're about dads, not families, which is sort of accidentally on point), can you even name the parents of more than a couple of game characters? There are probably more about orphans than about someone who, even in passing, has parents.Ĭhildren Of Morta is all about the family. Every melee characters sucks until he gets the 3-4 basic abilities to use with him.Games about families are pretty uncommon. Otherwise are not worth the micromanagement just to survive the bosses & goblins.John is good to get to level 4 and 16 bonuses. And the evade/dash is a great combination with mark.ĥ) John, kevin, joey are good if you find them to coop with you. Easy to win there, sucks if there is even 1 acrher or mage. Other honourable mentions:3) Mark is mandatory to level until 20 to get extra dash, best util for lucy and linda.Ĥ) Apa because she is great at some places with low archers. The rage is not worth it with her, only to wait for mana regen. Tornado power loses suction at the end-game and with the 3 upgrade solves that problem. Loses tracktion at the end of the game where everywhere are ranged guys with armor.Ģ) Lucy - End Game Wrecker - Is a tank if you upgrade the shield and the tornato to level 3. Her cc is mediocre tornado is all right, but decoy doesn't work well or often enough.Ģ characters carried my through the game.ġ) Linda - Early Moneygrabber - As clueless as I was about the game, she was the easest to familiarize and to earn money. Lucy - My favorite, but the lack of mobility really cripples her ability to deal with large numbers. The ranged characters are fun, but single-target damage is much too slow. Endlessly kiting enemies is highly inefficient. Linda - The safest character, but has one of the slowest kill/clear speeds.Mark - Good cc, but attacks are too slow and targeted to be effective.Joey - Unfortunately, his damage output doesn't compensate for his low attack speed or lack of survivability, so John is almost strictly better. The regen he grants at Lv20 is the best passive by far. John - Attacks fast enough to keep enemies in stun (especially with attack canceling), and the shield lends a lot of survivability.Kevin - His fast attack speed (you should almost always be in frenzy) and three dodges mean you can switch targets quickly to keep enemies in hitstun indefinitely.Ranking based on how good they are, not necessarily how fun: Fight, protect, and discover the truth behind the Corruption!
